The purpose of this glossary is to provide definitions for words or phrases that may be unfamiliar to customers, or that have a specialized or technical meaning within the context of Sabanto Steward™.

Definition

 

Activation

The process of enabling a device for a particular organization within the Vehicle Mission Control (vMC).

Autonomy

The vehicle's ability to operate and perform tasks without direct human control, relying on automation and advanced technology for navigation, sensing, and task execution.

Backend

The cloud-based infrastructure that fosters communication and computing between Mission Control and the vOS on the vPFM.

Customer

Anyone who has created a Sabanto account.

Client

Clients are the highest level of organization.

Controlled Movement Area

The controlled movement area (CMA) is generally defined as all runways and taxiways and is controlled by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or Air Traffic Controller.

Coverage Plan

The intended passes that vehicles will work within a field boundary.

Dealer

Any member of a dealership that has been contracted by Sabanto to sell and support Sabanto Steward™.

Device

The Sabanto Vehicle Path Finding Module (vPFM).

Equipment

Any type of vehicle or implement.

Farm

Farms are the middle level of organization. Farms can be associated with a Client.

Field

Fields are the basic level of organization. Fields can be associated with Farms and Clients.

Field Boundary

The exterior boundary that marks the extents of a field.

Foreign Object Debris

Any object, live or not, located in an inappropriate location in the airport environment that has the capacity to injure airport or air carrier personnel and damage aircraft.

Job

The act of performing a single field operation during a single season.

Implement Width

The widest width of the implement, from end-to-end.

Obstacle

Any object or area within a field boundary that can be identified.

Obstacle Detection System

The Infrared Emitter and Receiver hardware devices that are attached to the grill guards of ROPS/Open Station tractors or the front cab roof brackets.

Non-Traversable Hole

A non-passable area within a field boundary.

The actual working width of the implement, which may not be the full extent of the implement.

Traffic-controlled Traversable Hole

A traffic-controlled traversable hole is a passable area within the field boundary that should not be worked, but also requires the operator's assistance for the vehicle to cross the area.

Traversable Hole

A passable area within a field boundary that should not be worked.

vMC

Vehicle Mission Control (vMC) is a web-based user interface for remotely setting up and controlling the autonomy system. It is accessible on mobile devices and computers that are connected to the internet.

vPFM

Vehicle Path Finding Module (vPFM) is a hardware device that is installed on the vehicle and acts as the brains of the Steward autonomy system.

vOS

Vehicle Operating System (vOS) is the software running on the vPFM.
