10: Geofence Violation

Understanding and Resolving Geofence Violations

This pause reason indicates that the vehicle has crossed a defined geofence, resulting in a complete shutdown of the ignition as a safety measure to prevent operation outside the designated area.

Severity

  • Medium Severity:
    • Navigation paused: Error detected when vOS attempted to process the geofence. Contact support.
  • High Severity:
    • Ignition turned off: Steward™ crossed the geofence.

Troubleshooting

  • Verify the geofence boundaries: Review the defined geofence boundaries in the control system to ensure they are correctly configured and accurately represent the intended safe area.
  • Assess the planned path: Examine the autonomous mission to understand why the vehicle moved beyond the geofence. Adjust the path or mission parameters to remain within the boundaries.
  • Check GPS accuracy: Significant GPS drift or inaccuracies could lead to the system incorrectly determining that the vehicle has crossed the geofence. Ensure a strong and stable GPS signal.
  • Contact support: If you believe the geofence is incorrectly configured, if you are experiencing errors with the geofencing system itself, or if you are unsure why a violation occurred, contact our support team for assistance
