25: Vehicle Error Codes

Understanding and Responding to Vehicle Error Codes (DTCs)

This pause reason indicates that the tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected one or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), signaling a potential issue with a vehicle system or component. The severity of the pause or warning depends on the specific lamp illuminated and the nature of the detected codes.

Severity

Low Severity:

  • Protect lamp was on. DTCs detected: [code(s)]

Medium Severity:

  • Ignition turned off: Malfunction indicator lamp was on. DTCs detected: [code(s)].
  • Navigation paused: Red stop lamp was on. DTCs detected: [code(s)].
  • Amber warning lamp was on. DTCs detected: [code(s)].
  • An amber warning lamp was on, but a user has prevented a navigation pause with the "ignore DTC feature. DTCs detected: [code(s)].

Troubleshooting

  • Consult the operator's manual: Refer to your tractor's operator manual for information on the specific warning lamps and a general list of potential DTCs.
  • Use a diagnostic tool (if available): If you have access to a diagnostic tool, use it to get a more detailed description of the DTCs.
  • Address critical warnings immediately: A red stop lamp or a malfunction indicator lamp leading to shutdown indicates a serious issue. Do not attempt to operate autonomously until the cause is investigated and resolved.
  • Exercise caution with amber warnings: While an amber warning might not immediately halt operation, it signals a potential problem that should be addressed to prevent further issues.
  • Disable "Amber Lamp Pauses": Under the advanced controls while viewing a vehicle in vMC, there is a control called "Amber Lamp Pauses" that allow you to specify if amber lamp DTCs should pause navigation. If you use the "Amber Lamp Pauses" control, be aware that you are overriding a vehicle warning. Address the underlying issue as soon as safely possible.
  • Contact support or a qualified technician: For any DTCs that you cannot readily understand or resolve based on the operator's manual, contact our support team for assistance or a qualified agricultural equipment technician for diagnosis and repair. Provide them with the recorded lamp information and DTCs.
