4: No RTK

Understanding and Resolving No RTK Pauses

This pause reason indicates that the tractor's Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS positioning system is not functioning correctly or its accuracy has fallen below the required threshold for autonomous operation. RTK provides high-precision GPS data, and its absence or degradation can impact navigation accuracy.

Severity

  • Low Severity:
    • Navigation paused: GPS accuracy exceeded the acceptable threshold. Reported accuracy:
  • Medium Severity:
    • Navigation paused: GPS position was unknown.
    • Navigation paused: GPS system was not using satellite corrections.

Troubleshooting

  • Verify network connection: Ensure the tractor has a stable internet or cellular connection to receive network RTK corrections. Check signal strength.
  • Check GPS antenna: Ensure the GPS antenna on the vehicle has a clear view of the sky and is free from obstructions (e.g., trees, buildings). Inspect the antenna cable for damage and secure connections.
  • Wait for signal recovery: If the issue seems temporary (e.g., brief obstruction), wait a few minutes to see if the RTK signal and accuracy improve.
  • Enable Auto-Resume: Within the advanced controls of the vehicle on vMC, you can enable "Auto-resume" which will wait a short amount of time to see if the issue has been resolved and begin navigating autonomously again. Learn more about Auto-resume.
  • Restart the device: A restart of the device can sometimes resolve temporary issues.
  • Contact support: If the "GPS position was unknown" persists, or if RTK corrections are not being received despite troubleshooting the connections and antenna, contact our support team for assistance.
