51: Network Device Disconnect

Understanding and Resolving Network Device Disconnects

This pause reason indicates that the autonomous operation was interrupted due to a loss of connection with a critical network-connected device, specifically the GPS system in this case. This disconnection prevents the tractor from receiving necessary positioning data.

Severity

  • Medium Severity:
    • Navigation paused: No GPS data was received. Check GPS connection.
    • Navigation paused: GPS unit lacked an ethernet signal. Check ethernet connection.

Troubleshooting

  • Check physical connections: Ensure that all physical cables (power and data) connected to the GPS unit are securely plugged in at both ends (both at the GPS unit and the vPFM). For BX992, focus on power and any direct serial or CAN bus connections, as Ethernet is not required for basic operation.
  • Inspect cable integrity: Examine the cables for any signs of damage, such as cuts, fraying, or kinks. Replace any damaged cables. A blown fuse could also cause a loss of power to the GPS unit. Check relevant fuses in the vehicle's electrical system.
  • Verify power to the GPS unit: Ensure the GPS unit is receiving power. Check any indicator lights on the unit to confirm it is powered on.
  • Check Ethernet connection (for remote access): If the error specifically mentions an Ethernet issue, and you are attempting to remotely access the BFE, ensure the Ethernet cable is properly connected and the network is functioning. Note that BX992 does not require Ethernet for basic GPS data reception.
  • Restart the device: A device restart can sometimes resolve temporary communication glitches.
  • Contact support: If the connection issues persist after checking the physical connections and restarting the system, contact our support team for assistance.
