Simplify mission planning by setting a point of interest as the default end point in the field.
The Default End Point feature allows vMC users to designate a specific location within a field as the mission's automatic end point. This simplifies mission planning by eliminating the need to manually drop an end point for each mission. If a default end point is set for a field, it will be pre-selected in the Mission Planner. If no default end point is set, the mission's end point will default to "Same as Start."
Implementation
Setting a Default End Point
-
Navigate to the Edit Field Geometries page.
-
Press the New POI button to create a new point of interest.
-
In the New POI Modal, you will see an option to toggle on Default End Point.
-
Toggle this option on to set the POI as the default end point for the field.
Important Notes:
-
A POI can only be set as a default end point if it is located inside a field boundary.
-
Only one default end point can exist per field boundary. If you set a new POI as the default end point for a field that already has one, the new selection will override the previous one.
Using the Default End Point
-
Open the Mission Planner for a field that has a default end point set.
-
The End Point selection will be pre-filled with the designated POI.
-
If a field does not have a default end point, the end point selection will be automatically set to "Same as Start."
Troubleshooting
-
"Default End Point" toggle is disabled: If the POI is not located inside a field boundary, you will not be able to enable the "Default End Point" option.
-
Default end point is not being selected in Mission Planner: Verify that the correct field boundary has a default end point set. Remember, only one POI per field can be designated as the default end point.
-
Need to change the default end point: To change the default end point, simply set another POI in the same field as the new default. The system will automatically override the previous selection.
