Monitor Autonomous Operations with Real-Time Video Streaming

vOS 1.17.4 or above is required to stream live video. More details can be found here

Sabanto Steward™ enables operators to monitor field operations in real time through live video feeds from onboard cameras. This is especially useful when operators are not in the cab of the vehicle or do not have direct line of sight. By streaming live video, you can stay confident in the autonomous operation of your systems and ensure everything is functioning as expected.

Key Features

  1. Toggle Video Streaming: Easily turn video streaming on or off using the video camera button. When enabled, a video pane appears in the bottom-right corner of the map with the front camera view as the default.

  2. Camera Options: Within the video modal, operators can switch between camera views.

  3. Customizable Viewing: Operators can drag the video modal to a preferred location on the screen and resize the modal, making it easier to monitor while managing other tasks.

  4. Persistence Across Pages: When the video modal is visible, you can navigate away from the page in vMC and continue to monitor the vehicle's streaming video. When viewing other pages in vMC, a link to quickly navigate back to the vehicle will be present, should you need to remotely control the vehicle.

Limitations

  • The number of simultaneous video streams is limited by CPU availability.

  • The video stream will timeout after 10 minutes in order to conserve power and CPU.
  • Expanding the video to full screen or opening it in a new window is not supported in all browsers.

  • Multi-camera monitoring (viewing multiple feeds at once) is not available at this time.

  • Streaming live video of multiple systems simultaneously in the same tab is not available at this time. However, you can try using multiple tabs or browsers.
  • Viewing picture-in-picture mode in browsers such as Firefox is not supported at this time.

Troubleshooting

  • Video Streaming Unavailable:

    • Ensure the vehicle is operational and within network range.

    • Ensure all cables and connections are fastened securely.

    • Restart the device to ensure vOS is running properly.
  • Lag or Poor Video Quality:

    • Verify your internet connection and device performance.

    • Restart by toggling the video camera button off and on again.
